Although he calls himself a struggling entreprenuer, Terry Allen is a business owner and a consultant for small businesses. He is a one of the co-authors of the best-selling Simon and Schuster book, Real Men Cook: Rites, Rituals, and Recipes for Living. He is the Texas event manager for the Real Men Cook, the largest urban Father's Day Celebration in the USA. Real Men Cook is the Flagship event for Real Men Charities, Inc. and the event has raised over $150,000 for non profits through its ticket grant program throughput major cities in America. As the Business and Development Director of the Business Assistance Center, Inc., he was featured in national press via Black Enterprise Magazine in May 2005 and September 2006. He is also CEO of a business trio focused on event management, celebrity procurement and sponsorship development. He has written several school curriculums, including: Rites of Passage for Young Female; 12 Step Program for Parenting; and T.U.P.A.C (Teaching Underserved Populations Achievement and Control) Series 1-7, a urban achievers curriculum. He has been an educational consultant to over 15 Texas schools districts, including: Plano, Richardson, Dallas, and Houston, Stephenville, El Pasoand, and Oakland, CA. He developed and created the first successful citywide town hall on re-entry (N.I.M.B.Y. - Not In My Backyard) and economic development camp for formerly incarcerated individuals called (P.O.W.E.R. Preparing Our Workforce with Empowered Re-entry CAMP) in Dallas which has just been featured with Chef Jeff Henderson by QSR Magazine the mainstream national food industry magazine.

His tenure at the Business Assistance Center has produced over 42 new business owners who have generated over $1,800,000.00 in revenue since their graduation from the program. Under his tenure over 75 business plans have been written by and for the center's roster of clients with over 80% achieving capital and/or contracts. He serves on several boards and task forces including serving the University of Dallas' Graduate School of Management's Sports and Entertainment MBA Board and the Miller Urban Entrepreneurs Series Business Plan Competition in partnership with the National Urban League and reality television's "The Apprentice" winner Randall Pinkett.

Along with his business partner Dr. Scott Wysong, holds a super panel boot camp quarterly for marketing and sponsorship call Sponsorship 360 which empowers emerging and growing businesses, non profits and media related marketing professionals in the areas of sponsorship, TV and radio access, revenue development and strategic marketing plans.

His media company, 1016 Media, services clients in the arts and entertainment, fashion, retailing, internet and small businesses industries. He has handled celebrities including Iyanla Vanzant, Tom Joyner Morning Show's J Anthony Brown (and his hot sauce MOFO), Dr. Phil, Soul Food's Rockmond Dunbar, Susan Taylor and more. He is one of the certified North Texas Super Bowl business owners in Dallas, TX. He also created one of the most productive Small Business Camps in North Texas called Emerging Women CEOs Business also known as Sister CEO! where over 300 women business owner merge with key women CEOs for Power mentoring including financing, mentoring, business launch and business plans this year features the "Bank It Or Bounce It Segment" where emerging business owners get a chance to finance their dream business modeled after the ABC's Shark Tank. This year's event is scheduled for Columbus Weekend 2011 in Dallas, TX.

He is a long term member of National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and Chair of the Associate Member Task Force. He has devleoped two media institutes for NABJ in New York and Washington, D.C. which included PR Guru and Author Terrie Willaims and PR Expert Karen Taylor Bass (Brand New Mom/Cheif Mom track). He is also the chair of the Fundraising Committee for The Dallas-Fort-Worth Association of Black Journalists President Cheryl Smith. In 2011, he has been nominated for Salute to Excellence Award in Public Relations for Cause Related Marketing.
